As if the Perfect Game was not enough history making, Mark Buehrle1 set the All-Time record for consecutive batters retired with 452. This did not start with the perfect game since 27 is the max he faced. This started for him on July 18th against the Baltimore Orioles3.

Mark Buerhle became the 18th pitcher in Major League History to throw a perfect game1. 27 up and 27 down just like that. He did have some close calls, as he escaped 3-0 counts and a Ben Zoberist line drive past third in the 8th that landed just foul2. Those seemed to be the best chances for hits until Gabe Kapler stepped into the box in the top of the 9th3.
