The Miami Heat advanced to the NBA Finals with a 83-80 victory over the Chicago Bulls last night. With 2 minutes remaining in the game, the Bulls seemed to have pulled off another victory. After key turnovers, missed foul shots and also a 4 point play which Dwayne Wade converted, the Bulls lead vanished:
The Miami Heat have put the pressure on the Chicago Bulls after taking a 3-1 series lead in the 101-93 victory in overtime last night. The Heat turned it on late as they were able to take their first lead in the final minutes of the 3rd quarter. The Heat would not regain the lead until overtime when they scored 16 points and put the Bulls back in their stalls:
Derrick Rose became the youngest NBA player in history to receive the MVP award. It is well deserved as Rose lead the Bulls to their No.1 playoff seed and average 25 points, 7.7 assists, with 4.1 rebounds to boot. He is also the first Bulls player since Michael Jordan in 1998 to receive the award:
Both the lower seeds (Dallas Mavericks and Atlanta Hawks) were able to upset their top opponents last night. The Atlanta Hawks ran behind Joe Johnson’s 34 point outburst to drop the Bulls 103-95. The Dallas Mavericks came back from a 16 point deficit with seconds remaining and recorded the 96-94 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers:
The Chicago Bulls were in total control last night throughout the entire game against the Indiana Pacers. Even with a sprained ankle, Derrick Rose managed to lead his team (25 points & 6 assists) to a 116 – 89 victory. The victory was a true team effort for Chicago as they had 6 players in double figures. The Bulls will move on to face the winners of the Atlanta Hawks and Orlando Magic series:
