Here’s The Rundown:
- Johnny Cueto of the Cincinnati Reds threw one of the best games of his career1 and possibly in franchise history. Cueto struck out 8 batters, did not walk a batter and threw 62% strikes (67 strikes, 107 total pitches) in the complete game 1-hitter.
- The Mariners Cliff Lee put a 1 in his win column2 as he pitched 71/3 giving up 8 hits, walking zero and striking out 2 in the victory over the Baltimore Orioles.
- Daric Barton came up big for the Oakland A’s in extra innings hitting a home run3 in the 11th and finally delivering an RBI single in the 13th that would hold up for the victory over the Texas Rangers.

- Carlos Pena two 2-run homers1 and David Price went 7 2/3 (3 runs, 7 hits).
- Colby Lewis of the Texas Rangers received his first win2 in the majors going 7 innings and giving up 5 hits and 1 earned run.
- Drew Stubbs’ first career grand slam3 couldn’t have come at a better time in the 8th inning. It would launch the Reds past the Cubs 5-4 and put them up for good.
