With so much going on this past week and over the weekend, I thought I might have some trouble on picking a topic to write about. I mean you don’t want to short change any of the big stories that occurred this past week; Brett Favre1 to Vikings, Patriots Honor Hall of Famer’s2, NFL preseason games and Sox vs Yankees3at Fenway Park to name a few. This really was a no brainer though as the Little League World Series4 in Williamsport, PA took center stage.
Can you think of anything better when you are 10-12 yrs old than being in Williamsport, PA and playing baseball? When I was that age, I thought it was so awesome. You get to be interviewed, have your games televised, and play on the best fields you could ever image. For those of you who do play or Coach Little League Baseball, I am sure you have thought about it from time to time.
These games are awesome because you know these kids really enjoy playing the game at that age. It is so easy for you to watch a game, enjoy watching one team play and you wind up following them all the way to the championships. When they win you get some goosebumps and smile knowing they will cherish that days victory forever. It certainly makes me think what it would be like to be there and actually win it all, but I digress.
So for the weekend and upcoming weeks you get to be a kid again as you watch and relieve your own childhood memories of playing. Not to mention watch some of the best players in the world play the game so well at such a young age.
