The Oklahoma Sooners defeated the Florida State Seminoles 23-13 in order to stay atop the AP Poll. The Sooners were able to answer Florida State’s touchdown with 9:32 left in the 4th quarter to tie the game at 13. Landry Jones (Oklahoma) was able to hook up with Kenny Stills (125 yards, 1 TD) for a 83 yard touchdown pass on the ensuing drive. The Sooners would also add a late field goal to seal the victory:

Studs: I think anytime a player throws for 5 touchdowns no matter the opponent they should be the top performer. That is why I am going to go with Arizona Quarterback Nick Foles. Not only did he throw for 5 touchdowns but he also had 412 passing yards to boot. That’s doing something, I don’t care who you play.

The showdown between the third ranked LSU Tigers and fourth ranked Oregon Ducks was not as close as expected. This was much in part due to the fact that LSU was able to score 20 points on 3 of 4 turnovers by the Ducks. LSU would go onto beat the Ducks 40-27:

The South Carolina Gamecocks not only won their second championship last night but they did it with style. Winning 16 times in the NCAA tournament and also generating the longest win streak with 11 in a row during the College World Series:

The South Carolina Gamecocks defeated the Florida Gators 2-1 last night in the first game of the College World Series. The Gamecocks were able to stick to their formula that made them defending champions, play great defense and apply pressure on offense. South Carolina was able to do this in the 13th inning and the Gators folded. Florida made 2 throwing errors when Christian Walker stole second. First, the catcher threw the ball into right-center allowing Walker to advance to third. Next, Florida’s right fielder Bryson Smith’s throw got away from the 3rd baseman Dent. That allowed Walker to stroll on home with the go ahead run and 1-0 series lead:
