The Houston Rockets playing well enough to send the game between them and the Los Angeles Lakers into overtime may have been surprise enough. The Rockets couldn’t keep up with the many weapons of the Lakers. Lamar Odom joined the 20-20 club for the night, Kobe scored 32 and Pau Gasol had 26 points with 16 rebounds as the Lakers won 114-106:
The Cleveland Cavaliers made another visit with their former “King” LeBron James. This contest ended the same way 20 others have in a terrible defeat. This latest loss to the Heat put the Cavaliers a few games shy of the NBA record for consecutive losses. I hope they get a win soon because there is nothing exciting about breaking that record:
The Memphis Grizzlies were down 21 points to the Philadelphia 76ers heading into the 4th quarter. The 4th quarter was a completely different story, however. Memphis outscored their point total for the first half by scoring 42 points in the 4th quarter and thus erased the 21 point deficit:
Kevin Durant poured in a career high 47 points to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder over the Minnesota Timberwolves 118-117 in overtime. Minnesota stayed close thanks in large part to Kevin Loves 3rd 30 point 20 rebound game of his career:
The Boston Celtics got a much needed boost from an early return by Kendrick Perkins, who was recovering from knee surgery. Perkins played 16 minutes against the Cavaliers and scored 7 points while grabbing 6 rebounds in the Celtics 112-95 victory:
