Here’s The Rundown:
- The Rays Matt Garza threw the first no hitter in franchise history1 for Tampa Bay. Garza struck out 6 and only walked 1 batter in the victory.
- The Red Sox David Ortiz did not make Dan Haren’s first start with the Angels2 a smooth one but he didn’t leave the biggest mark. Kevin Youkilis hit a line drive off of Haren’s forearm which shortened his debut.
- The Twins Joe Mauer had a career high 7 RBI’s3 as the Twins as one of the best games of the season.

- The Minnesota Twins won their home opener1 in the new Target Outdoor Field.
- Andrew Jones’ 2 home runs2 moved him into a tie with Craig Nettles on the All-Time3 list at No. 50 with 390 for his career.
- St. Louis Cardinals enjoyed a shut out victory4 in their home opener as Adam Wainwright went 8 scoreless. Albert Pujols homered and drove in 4 to give Wainwright all the support he would need.
