LSU simply overpowered the Texas Longhorns in the Best of Three Championship Series. LSU went ahead 4-0 early in the ball game but Texas was able to showcase some power of its own. Kevin Keyes was able to tie the game at four in the fifth inning with a two run shot1.
LSU would prove tough to beat as they would score five more times in the sixth to extend the lead2. That would all the Bengal Tigers would need in order to bring a College World Series Trophy back home.
