The Mavericks defeated the Heat thanks in large part to the 13 three’s they were able to hit last night. Dallas also shot 56 percent from the field and outscored the Heat 17-4 down the stretch. Of course Dirk Nowitzki lead the way for the Mavericks with 29 points and have the Mavericks 1 game away from an NBA Championship:

Back In The Saddle

The Dallas Mavericks will be returning to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2006. The Mavericks defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 100-96 last night and punched their tickets to the Finals. The Mavericks were lead by none other than Dirk Nowitzki who scored 26 points and put the exclamation point on the Maverick’s 15 point 4^th quarter comeback with 1:14 left:

Man On Fire

Sure Dirk Nowitzki may not be Creasy from the movie “Man on Fire” but he is sure acting like him. Dirk continues to have his was with the Oklahoma City Thunder dropping another 40 points in a 112-105 overtime thriller last night. The Mavericks were able to take a commanding 3-1 series lead and have themselves 1 game away from the NBA Finals:

Close But No Cigar

The Oklahoma City Thunder made a valiant effort to comeback in game 3 of the NBA Western Conference Finals. They stopped Dirk Nowitzki from destroying them in the post but he was still able to manage 18 points. The Mavericks have a boatload of scoring options between Shawn Marion (18 pts, 2, stl, 2 blks), Jason Terry (13 pts, 2 stl) and yes even Jason Kidd (13 pts, 8 ast, 4 stl) the Mavericks were able to defeat the Thunder 93-87:

Dirk’s Efficiency Steals OKC’s Thunder

Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks was incredible to say the least last night. He set a record for consecutive free throws without a miss by going 24-24 from the line. The fact that he was able to get 24 foul shots is another thing, the man simply could not be stopped. He wound up going 12-15 from the field and finished with 48 points, which is 2 points shy of his playoff high. Dirk also played a little defense and racked up 4 blocks in the 121-112 game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. An honorable mention goes to Kevin Durant who did all that he could to battle back against the Mavericks as he scored 40 points on the night:

Mavs Put Defending Champs In 3-0 Hole

The Dallas Mavericks have continued to dismantle the Los Angeles Lakers. With Dirk Nowitzki dropping in his usual 32 points, the rest of the Mavericks followed suit from behind the arc. Dallas went 12-29 from behind the arc compared to a 3-13 shot performance by the Lakers. You live by the 3 you die by the 3, and the Mavericks are L-I-V-I-N:

The Dallas Mavericks came into Boston looking to extend their winning streak to 7 games. They would lead for most of the night against the Boston Celtics until the 4th quarter. The Celtics would comeback to lead by 6 with 2:42 left in the game but would fail to capitalize on their scoring opportunities down the stretch. The Mavericks kept the game close enough and with 2.5 seconds left, Jason Kidd knocked down the game winning 3 and extended the winning streak to 7:

Charlotte Sets Sights For Higher Ground

The Charlotte Bobcats raised the bar for franchise wins again this year by notching No. 36 last night. It was a clean sweep of the season series for the Pacers against the Pistons, Danilo Gallinari supplied the nails for the coffin as he scored 17 points in the 4^th quarter to secure the win for New York over Denver, and the Birthday boy J-Kidd had his best shooting night of the season with 6 three pointers finishing with 26 for the game¹:
