Just like that a 9 game lead on September 3^rd vanished for the Boston Red Sox and the Tampa Bay Rays took over the wild card spot. The Red Sox were the victims of their own demise as they stranded 11 runners and could not build on their 3-2 lead over the Orioles going into the 9^th inning. Down 3-2 with a man on first and 2 outs, Nolan Reimold doubled to deep right center allowing pinch runner Kyle Hudson to score the tying run. Robert Andino finished off the comeback as he hit a single to left field driving in Reimold for the 4-3 win and sending Boston out of the playoffs:

Nothing Short of Consistent

For the 16^th time in 17 season the New York Yankees Baseball team will be headed to the post-season. The Yankees secured the AL East Title with a 4-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays last night in Yankee Stadium. I must say this, the post-season is that much better when the Yankees are involved. Having the possibility of the Yankees and Red Sox playing in the post-season makes things that much more interesting. Without them, I think October loses its luster:

Cleveland Looks To Irving

Sorry this is not Julius Irving I am talking about here, although Cleveland probably hopes he could be. Kyrie Irving from Duke, was the first overall selection in this years NBA Draft. Like most of the NBA’s #1 picks we’ll have to wait to see how this pans out. After the way he played in the NCAA tournament this year though, I have a feeling he will be well deserving of the #1 pick:

Quack, Quack, Quack

The Boston Bruins have returned to Boston with the Stanley Cup and this city could not be more grateful. Those devoted fans who had to wait 39 years between championships are finally rewarded with a Duck Boat Tour around Boston on Saturday morning. I am not a true Bruins fan but what a sports town Boston has become. In the past 10 years we have had 3 Super Bowls, 2 World Series victories, and NBA Championship and now a Stanley Cup. Well who’s rooting for the Revolution this year, I’m getting my season tickets.

That was the motto for the Boston Bruins last night as they took it to the Vancouver Canucks in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Bruins scored 4 goals in the 1^st period, 2 of which came 35 seconds apart, to put the heat on the Canucks and force a Game 7 with a 5-2 victory. The Bruins will have to keep their momentum as they travel back to Vancouver for 1 last shot at the Cup:

Savage Garden

The Boston Bruins won big over the Vancouver Canucks last night 4-0 to even their series at 2 games apiece. Tim Thomas stopped all 38 shots on net for his 3^rd shutout of the playoffs:

The Boston Bruins roasted the Vancouver Canucks in game 3 scoring 8 goals and sent a message to those cheap shot artists on the Canucks. The Bruins still trail 2-1 in the series but will have a shot Wednesday to even the series:

Not sure if the title really makes sense but what the hell. The Boston Bruins and Vancouver Canucks started their playoff series last night and it was one of the better games I have seen. Granted I don’t watch hockey all season but this had everything you would want from a game. Yelling and screaming on every shot near the net. With that said the Canucks took advantage of a little give and go with 19 seconds left on the clock to take a 1-0 advantage over the B’s. If this game is any indication of the series, we’re in for quite a ride:

Horton Hears A Stanley

The Boston Bruins are returning to the Stanley Cup Finals after a 20 year absence. Tim Thomas saved every shot that came his way (24 saves) and the Bruins offense kept on pounding the goal (38 shots on goal) until one finally snuck through. The Bruins now head to Vancouver to face the Canucks on Wednesday:
