The UCONN Huskies outplayed, out-defended and just out worked the Cinderella Butler Bulldogs 53-41. I had the feeling that Butler was going to do what they always do. Hang around until the final minutes and then find a way to win. The only problem was that UCONN was not going to let them hang around. They fed the Bulldogs a healthy dose of Lamb (Jeremy Lamb 12 pts, 7 boards) and went on a 20-3 run to basically put the game away with a few minutes remaining:

Amongst all the upsets that happened yesterday, yeah my bracket is pretty much toast, the one thing that stood out was Duke’s win over Michigan. Forget Michigan coming back from the dead as they couldn’t score for the first couple minutes of the second half. Forget about Michigan being ever so close to bringing the game into overtime. What stands out is the fact that Coach K recorded his 900th victory of his career putting him 2 behind Bob Knight. Its good to see the Celtics back in the Garden. It has been a long summer for the Red Sox fans who had to endure a really tough season. The kids almost pulled it off but almost does not count. So onto the next sports and I am happy that Basketball season has returned for the 2010-11 season. Although the Celtics look like a little make shift team with all their free agent pick ups, I think they have added great team chemistry and that should be fun to watch. The Patriots are looking as though they can be hit or miss some weeks but we all know they will bounce back also. Here’s to the basketball season returning and giving us a little something extra to focus on in case those Pats don’t pan out so well.
