Ahead of the “Curve”
The New York Yankees C. C. Sabathia and The Atlanta Braves Jair Jurrjens became the first pitcher’s to reach 10 wins in the American (Yankees) and National (Braves) Leagues. Jurrjens was able to get plenty of run support in his victory as the Braves plated 10 runners against the San Diego Padres. Jurrjens took care of the rest as he threw 6 innings of 3 hit ball and allowed just 1 runner. For C. C Sabathia the story was more of the same as the Yankees jumped out to a 5 run lead after 3 innings against the Colorado Rockies. With Sabathia on the hill, that would be more than enough run support as he pitched 8 innings giving up only 1 run and striking out 9 batters.

Cleveland Looks To Irving
Sorry this is not Julius Irving I am talking about here, although Cleveland probably hopes he could be. Kyrie Irving from Duke, was the first overall selection in this years NBA Draft. Like most of the NBA’s #1 picks we’ll have to wait to see how this pans out. After the way he played in the NCAA tournament this year though, I have a feeling he will be well deserving of the #1 pick:

No Doubting Thomas
The Boston Bruins Goalie Tim Thomas was awarded his 2nd Vezina Trophy for one of the best seasons and post seasons of his career. With 8 goals allowed during the finals, there was really no doubt as to who would win this award.

Thrasher’s On The Move
The Atlanta Thrasher’s are on the move to Winnipeg. The NHL board of Governors approved the sale of the Atlanta based team to True North Sports. The move also marks the return of Hockey to the smallest venue and sports arena in the NHL. Should be a blast for them. Look on the bright side thought, Canadians have another team to cheer for:
