Mark Buerhle became the 18th pitcher in Major League History to throw a perfect game1. 27 up and 27 down just like that. He did have some close calls, as he escaped 3-0 counts and a Ben Zoberist line drive past third in the 8th that landed just foul2. Those seemed to be the best chances for hits until Gabe Kapler stepped into the box in the top of the 9th3.
