In Greg Maddux’s illustrious 23 year career¹ he collected some serious hardware. With 4 Cy Young awards, 18 Gold Gloves, only player with 4 consecutive², and also a World Series Victory in 1995³ with the Atlanta Braves. All that hardware did not go unnoticed as the Atlanta Braves retired his number, 31, this past week.

As a sure fire Hall of Famer as well, Maddux was one of a kind. He was as smart of a pitcher as he was talented. He truly defined what it meant to be a “pitcher” and not a “thrower” when on the mound.
