Sabathia Records 19th Victory

Here’s The Rundown:

  • The Yankees C.C. Sabathia was dominant from start to finish in his latest outing. Surrendering only 1 through 8 innings, C.C. tied his own record for wins1 in a season with 19.
  • The Rockies and Phillies had themselves a good old fashioned high scoring duel2. The Phillies scored 9 runs in the 7th and were able to hold on, as they won 12-11. Chase Utley added 6 RBI’s with 4 of them coming off his grand slam in the 7th.
  • The Indians Shin-Soo Choo but his team on his back and drove in all but 1 run3 as he hit a bases clearing double and a 2 run blast.

Chapman Revs Up Reds

Here’s The Rundown:

  • The Reds pitcher Aroldis Chapman was only pitching for one inning but he made quite the impression. Chapman recorded a perfect 8th inning and topped out at 102 mph1.
  • The Marlins Hanley Ramirez showed off his speed2 in the 9th as he stole second after hitting a single. Two batters later he was able to score from second and slide underneath the tag at home for the walk off victory.
  • The Blue Jays pounded the Rays for 10 runs in the 6th inning3 and would roll to an easy 13-5 victory.

Kuroda Shuts Down Phills

Here’s The Rundown:

  • The Dodgers Hiroki Kuroda took a no-hitter into the 8th inning1 against Philadelphia. Shane Victorino ended up lining a single to center to break up the no-hit bid. Kuroda finished with 7 strikeouts through 7 2/3 to go along with the 1 hit.
  • J.A. Happ went the distance for the Houston Astros while only allowing 2 hits2 and struck out 4 in the 3-0 victory.
  • The Cincinnati Reds keep on steamrolling into the final month of the season. The Reds recorded a 5-4 victory over the Brewers in the 1oth thanks to Jay Bruce who started and ended the scoring3.
