I think with the record Derek Jeter has broken. He has solidified himself in the top 5, 10 at the least, greatest Yankees of All-Time. He has won Four World Series Rings and has a World Series MVP to go along with that as well. He's been the best in this current generation of Yankees, that is for sure.

Finally Tim Wakefield is an All Star after 19 seasons! He's been up and down in his career but he deserves this. Is there anyone else this you who you think was snubbed or even might not deserved to be there?

Does firing a manager really work? Well the Rockies seem to have turned things around winning 9 straight. I think it does help to change the atmosphere of the clubhouse which may help turn things around. In this case, it has certainly worked as of late.

With the MLB Draft looming to start @ 6pm today. Does this matter to anyone? I mean a top 10 pick does not sign due to money and is then drafted in 2nd round or later. So it is not like the best prospects are drafted where they should be. The ones that make sense money wise, not always talent wise, go higher in the draft. One thing that separates the MLB Draft from any other, is how many rounds there are. You can get your franchise player in the 20th round as apposed your number one pick. In baseball, you just never know how players adjust in the minors and if they are worth the money you gave them.

By "The Streak" I mean the 56 game hitting streak owned by Joe Dimaggio. The only one who came close lately was Jimmy Rollins of the Phillies in 2005/06 with 38 games. There have been a few 20+ game streaks this season; Ryan Zimmerman, Jacoby Ellsbury and Ichiro Suzuki, most recently, have had the hit parade fall short this year so far. Do you think it will ever happen?

I think MLB should change its Divisions so each one has 5. Two divisions are out of sync. The NL Central has 6 and the AL West has 4. Why not throw St. Louis in the AL West(St. Louis is known as the gateway to the west anyhow) and problem solved. Each division would have 5 teams. The playoff system would be that much better also.

What makes for a good practice? Even though most of the High School or Town Leagues have ended, it is always good to plan for next year. Leave a reply as to what you enjoyed doing during a practice this past season(s). This way you can help to build a practice schedule that helps you work on your game and allows you to have fun all season long. For example, my team enjoyed playing against each other during practice. I would help them to correct any mistakes or point out anything that is important to remember for a game situation. This let them compete against each other and learn what to keep an eye out for during a game.
