The Los Angeles Dodgers had everything working1 for them yesterday. They pounded out 17 hits and scored 8 runs off of Florida Marlins pitcher Ricky Nolasco. On the defensive side, Clayton Kershaw surrendered 2 hits and struck out 10 in his complete game shut out.
The Boston Bruins are returning to the Stanley Cup Finals after a 20 year absence. Tim Thomas saved every shot that came his way (24 saves) and the Bruins offense kept on pounding the goal (38 shots on goal) until one finally snuck through. The Bruins now head to Vancouver to face the Canucks on Wednesday:
The Miami Heat advanced to the NBA Finals with a 83-80 victory over the Chicago Bulls last night. With 2 minutes remaining in the game, the Bulls seemed to have pulled off another victory. After key turnovers, missed foul shots and also a 4 point play which Dwayne Wade converted, the Bulls lead vanished:
The Dallas Mavericks will be returning to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2006. The Mavericks defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 100-96 last night and punched their tickets to the Finals. The Mavericks were lead by none other than Dirk Nowitzki who scored 26 points and put the exclamation point on the Maverick’s 15 point 4th quarter comeback with 1:14 left:
The Miami Heat have put the pressure on the Chicago Bulls after taking a 3-1 series lead in the 101-93 victory in overtime last night. The Heat turned it on late as they were able to take their first lead in the final minutes of the 3rd quarter. The Heat would not regain the lead until overtime when they scored 16 points and put the Bulls back in their stalls:
