Reds Close In On Central

  • The Cincinnati Reds reduced their magic number to 1 game1 with a 12-2 victory over the Padres.
  • With the Padres loss the Giants overtook first place2 thanks to Matt Cain’s no hit bid. Cain had the no hitter going until the 8th inning until he gave up an infield single to Jay Peyton. Cain would go the distance allowing 2 runs on 3 hits in the 4-2 victory over the Rockies.
