The Philadelphia Phillies kicked off their World Series trophy tour Monday January 11th¹. There last World Series victory came in 1980 when they “defeated the Kansas City Royals in 6 games.²”

Philadelphia was able to secure some major bullpen woes when they acquired Brad Lidge, the once formidable closer, this past season. Lidge returned to his solid form this past season and closed out Game 5 for the World Series victory.

As a Red Sox fan, I think I said “there’s always next year” for only a couple decades out of the eight. No fan should have to endure decades without celebrating their team as champions. Congratulations to the city of Philadelphia and all of your fans. Let’s see what the Eagles can do for you as well

The World Baseball Classic started play in March of 2006 with Japan wining in the end¹. It was a successful first year for the tournament, as players were more than proud to represent their country. The countries were equally as proud to have been able to showcase their talented players to the world.

The Baseball Classic has returned this year and is set to begin on March 5. This year there will be a mixture of returning and first year players added to the rosters². With so many talented players joining in the games, it will be exciting to see who comes out on top. Be sure to tune in and cheer on your favorite players as well as the up and coming players³ representing their countries.
