Turkey With A Side Of Couch Potatoes

by bren on November 24th, 2011 | No Comments »

In looking at the schedule of Football games on the old teli today. There really is no reason to even leave the couch. Which I think is one of the best things about Thanksgiving. Yeah sure you have the family, friends, 5k’s, High School Football and all that to go and see/do. Really though once you sit your but on that couch there is really no way your going to leave. I love how the games are scheduled this year 12:30, 4:15 and 8:20, just friggin awesome. Starting things off with the Packers and Lions at 12:30 is superb. Could be the best match-up we see all day. Aaron Rogers and Mathew Stafford slinging TD’s like nobody’s business. If you thought Stafford had a great week last week just you wait. He will most likely be playing catchup and will have to throw more often so Green Bay may have their hands full. Hopefully they aren’t to greasy from the Turkey on the sidelines. My prediction is Green Bay by 12 (first number that came to mind).

Then there is the so so showdown between the Dolphins and Cowboys. Seems really like an easy win for the Cowboys but you never know with this team. The Dolphins have been using Reggie Bush to his ability so that may cause some problems for the ‘Boys on defense but still not enough to win I think. I’m going to say the Cowboys by an easy 2 touchdowns.

Lastly we have the Ravens and 49ers which might actually be the defensive battle of the day. Funny to start things off with an offensive match-up and end with a defensive one. I think it will be a 16-15 heart breaker for the Ravens. I say the Ravens go out to an early lead and the 49ers work their way back through the air and rely on David Akers to provide the victory.

That sounds like one hell of a solid day of football and I can not wait to get started. We’ll see how right I am on these predictions. It’s either sink or swim for me letting it all ride this year.

Mohegan Sun Trade Show

For the 1st time, the Interactive Sports Gallery made an appearance this past weekend to promote its primary item the Pro Pitching Guide. I will have to say that for my first time, I think things went extremely well. Of course there are many things I would do differently or add to my display but all in all it was a great experience. Just being around coaches and other vendors of like mind was such a thrill. Listening to Nomar Garciaparra talk about hitting or Don Slaught talk about breaking down a players swing was well worth the trip. They had many good people to talk to and make connections with so you never know what will come of it. I was able to gain so much from the past 3 days that it would be hard for me to chalk this up as a total loss. I did not sell as many Pitching Guides as I would have liked but, it is never about that when it comes to these events. Those connections you make can help you down the road with something you had never even thought of before.

NFL MVP Race

If you told me at the beginning of the year Michael Vick would be talked about in the same sentence as Tom Brady for MVP I would have said eh probably not. Sure enough, that is what is happening. You look at what Vick has meant to the Eagles success this year and also how Tom Brady has carried the Patriots even with the departure of Randy Moss. To me it can be a toss up but I would have to put the edge on Vick for comeback player of the year but not MVP. He has served his penance and I respect him for turning the corner in his life to being a better person. Brady is without a doubt the MVP. The team solely relies upon him running the offense week in and week out. If he has a bad game, the entire team is effected by it. For that reason I believe he will get the MVP nod.

Jordan Makes It To UNC

by bren on December 15th, 2010 | No Comments »

With all the sports going on nowadays I have to admit I have become lost it in myself. I haven’t posted in quite a while and I apologize for that. I could give you a list of excuses or I could just get down to it. So Michael Jordan made it into North Carolina’s Hall Of Fame last night as he was inducted at half time. Does anyone else think that this is just a looong time coming for him? I would have seriously thought that he was inducted as soon as he left Chapel Hill:

It does seem odd that this hasn’t happened sooner but its nice to see none the less.

Nike Fake Out

So there is some jokester who apparently had a ton of time on his hands and released some uniform ideas that supposedly Nike will be making for the 2012 Football Season. People are all up in arm because the uniforms changed so drastically and you can’t change something that’s been the same for years. Well why not? I mean really these uniforms aren’t that bad. I might feel bad for Vince Wilfork in a Patriots Uniform:
