Frozen Fenway Magic

The Winter Classic was such a great idea a few years back. The NHL taking games to some of the most historic ball parks in Baseball and also a Football Stadium so the games can be played outdoors. Giving the players that old feeling of going outside onto a pond and playing until the lights go out. The First one was played in 2008 at the Buffalo Bill’s home, Ralph Wilson Stadium between the Buffalo Sabers and the Pittsburgh Penguins. The second Winter Classic took place at Wrigley Field with the Chicago Blackhawks facing the Detroit Red Wings. Now in 2010, Fenway Park was the newest destination.

Game Analysis2:

All in all, I would say it was a pretty successful day. I mean how many times are you going to see this happen. We had the first fight of the Winter Classic as well as a memorable overtime victory for those home town Bruins. It really could not have gone any smoother on the ice at Fenway Park.

Family Christmas Parties

This year me and my family ventured out to Sudbury, MA to visit all of our relatives. Everyone came out of the wood works this year. All the cousins my age showed up, except for my brother so he ruined that photo opportunity. We had a great time though watching the patriots game and cracking silly jokes.

It got me to thinking of all those years when I was like, “Mom why do I have to go? They won’t care if I don’t show up?” It’s is always nice to see everyone around the holidays. Having a family that is in a close living distance is good. We always get together for the major holidays and have birthday parties for everyone. Sorry, I am beginning to well up a little, ah that’s better. Enjoy these Holiday get togethers becuase some day you’ll look back and say “I miss those family parties, or social gatherings with my friends.” You can’t hit the rewind button my friends, so enjoy it while you can.

All About The Fam’

These days I may be rushing around so much it gets harder to stop and smell the roses. When you get a chance to, you really need to. You should set time aside to make sure that happens even when you feel overwhelmed. Those are the moments that will carry you through even the toughest of schedules. This is the time of the year that everyone is hustling to meet that deadline on the 25th of December. I have been looking through old pictures of my family to set a gift. Every time I look at a picture from my youth, I can not help but feel how loved I have been. Some pictures show me and my sister laying on mats on our hardwood floor with smiles from ear to ear. Compared to what the house looks like today, we did not need much to keep us happy. The reason for this was because of the love of our parents. They sacrificed so much so that we could have all the finer things in life. For that, I am extremely grateful. I may have just had an epiphany but when you have the love of your family, in whatever form it may be, then you have all you ever really need in life. Happy Holidays people.

What A MASS

All day yesterday, Dec. 5, 2009, the stage belonged to Massachusetts High School Teams vying for a Super Bowl victory. Being on a stage this big is alone a great feat, but to be able to be playing at major Football venues makes these games really special. It gives the players a feel for what it is like to play on the same field as some of their favorite players that they watch every Sunday or Saturday even.

The Patriots, a few years back, reconstructed their football field. It was honestly such an eye sore from week to week. It would have a strip down the middle of the field were the grass just could not grow1 due to the constant use of the facility by the Patriots and New England Revolution. I mention this because, last year was the first year Gillette Stadium was able to host any Super Bowl games for High School players.

With a revamped field, Gillette Stadium opened its doors to those Super Bowl games for High School football players. I think it is awesome for these young players to be able to participate in these games at this type of facility. It makes the games being played that much more fun and exciting for each player.

Here are the scores2 and also some video recaps of the games that were played this past Saturday.
