One thing I have noticed about the opening round of the Baseball Playoffs, is how much one base hit, diving catch, or error can effect the outcome of a game. You may hear players say that the post season is a completely different animal than the regular season. In fact one man you all may know, Reggie Jackson better known as Mr. October, told me “I loved this time of year. I just ate it up.”
Having that World Series Trophy at the end of the tunnel makes players hungrier. You may see a home run hitter drop a bunt just to get on base and keep an inning going. Players focus more upon getting on base and driving home any run they possibly can. This is mainly due to the fact that runs in a playoff game can be very hard to come by.
Any team is capable of making it past any round, another reason why I enjoy Baseball more than any other sport. Yeah I am that guy that still watches during Football Season. Star players come out of the woodwork and you may never hear from them again, Aaron Boone for example. That one still hurts quite a bit but I digress.
This year the match ups are more balanced and will only give us great games to watch the rest of the way. Who will come away with the crown, we shall have to wait and see as there is plenty of Baseball left to be played.
